The Cedar House at Montgomery Center
The Cedar House at Montgomery Center, Vermont is a true log home located approximately 8 miles from Jay Peak. It was built in 2005 by Lance and Mary Early, local home builders. The cedar logs used
to build the house were cut from trees located on the 5.5 acres upon which the house sits. Our family, the Barnetts, purchased The Cedar House in June, 2007. The house has been tastefully furnished
with antiques and contemporary rustic furniture. Our quaint town of Montgomery Center is within walking distance and boasts several fine restaurants and interesting shops.
We are using The Cedar House as a vacation/second home and as rental property. We hope you will find time to enjoy and relax at our four season northern country home.
A small brook runs behind the house and there are currently two snowshoe trails in the woods. The alpine skiing and boarding at Jay Peak is usually fantastic. The area also has excellent cross country skiing and snow mobile trails. Jay Peaks Water Park is now open for family fun.
In the spring, summer, and fall you can enjoy a bike trip through northern Vermont, walks to town or into the woods, touring and antiquing, a dip in the local swimming hole, excellent fishing, boating, and horseback riding, or just resting and relaxing with a good book. For golfers, Jay Peak offers a championship course.
Needless to say, the fall foliage season in Vermont is legendary.
